We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Graduate Software Systems Engineer to lead our efforts in Switzerland and Belgium. This role is tailored for a recent graduate who is eager to dive into the realms of building and deploying applications, including complex systems, and who has a foundational understanding of DevOps practices and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, keen to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, and ready to contribute to a team that upholds the highest standards in software development processes.

 

Who You Are

You are a recent graduate with a strong academic background in software engineering, computer science, or a related field. You have a theoretical understanding of, and possibly some hands-on experience with, software development, DevOps methodologies, and cloud services. You are enthusiastic about leveraging technology to solve problems and are keen to develop your skills further in a real-world context. You possess excellent communication skills, which enable you to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to projects that require interaction with clients.

Who You Will Do

As a Graduate Software Systems Engineer at Effixis, your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of software systems, while learning best practices in DevOps, containerization, orchestration, and cloud technologies.
  • Supporting the deployment of applications and complex systems, gaining hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Participating in project teams, contributing to the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Engaging with ongoing learning opportunities to deepen your understanding of software development and systems engineering principles.
  • Collaborating with team members and engaging with clients under supervision, contributing to the development of customized solutions.
  • Adhering to and learning about industry best practices and company standards in software development and systems engineering.

 

What You Have

  • A recent graduate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a keen interest in software development and systems engineering.
  • A foundational understanding of DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud technologies.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow within the field of software systems engineering.
  • Good problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
